A hotel reception is often the simplest handover
If you are sightseeing or checking out, ask reception whether it can receive the item on your behalf. Provide the guest name, hotel contact and the time you need it. We check the handover instructions with you; a hotel address alone does not establish that someone can accept a delivery.
When your flight is approaching
Send the departure date and local time, the airport and whether you will still be landside. Airport access and the pickup distance affect what is possible. Do not leave a hotel or change your travel arrangements on the assumption that a handover is confirmed. We first review the route and the available time.
An item discovered after checkout
Contact the property where you stayed and obtain confirmation that the item has been found. For a hotel, apartment or restaurant recovery request, our Istanbul Lost Property site explains the venue-release process. Once the item is available, we can assess local delivery or a return shipment.
What to send in your first message
Describe the item, the collection address, the receiving contact and your deadline. Explain any hotel storage or reception arrangement already agreed. A photo of the item can help identify it; do not send an entire booking confirmation when only the pickup instructions are needed.
